Speech Language Pathology

Speech Language Pathology is a discipline which provides treatment, support and care; through assessment and intervention, for children and adults who have difficulties with: communication, language or with eating, drinking and swallowing.

Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) or Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) work within the field and are allied health professionals.

Collaborating with parents, carers and other professionals, such as teachers, nurses, occupational therapists and doctors is part and parcel of intervention, to ensure holistic and functional goal setting and goal achievement.
